Israel Tennis Centers Announces Plans To Launch High Performance Training Camps

The Israel Tennis Centers (ITC) announced the launch of an ambitious new initiative for 2014. For the first time in its 37-year history, the ITC will be conducting tennis training camps specifically targeting teens and college athletes in North America who want to elevate their game and see Israel at the same time. These camps will be held at the Israel Tennis Centers’ world famous Academy in Ramat Hasharon.

“One of our key objectives is to encourage young people in the Diaspora to come to Israel and hone their tennis skills alongside members of Israel’s Davis Cup team in our premier facility at Ramat Hasharon,” Jacqueline Glodstein, ITC’s VP/Development said. “It will be an unbelievable experience for them.”
Groups are forming now for 2014 sessions starting in March and ending in late August. There will be separate training camps for high school and college students, as the dates below indicate:

College Students
Session 1: Two 1-week programs during Spring Break (March 9 – 16 & 16 – 23)
Session 2: 10 days (April 8 – 18)

High School & College Students (separate groups)
Session 3: 2 weeks (June 29 – July 13)
Session 4: 2 weeks (July 13 – 27)
Session 5: 2 weeks (July 27 – August 10)
Session 6: 2 weeks (August 10 – 24)

All sessions will include room and board at the Academy, tennis and fitness training and participation in tournaments with other campers and ITC high performance players who live in Israel. In addition, there will be one-of-a-kind discovery tours of Israel on those days when the kids are not playing tennis.
“Our goal is to help promising young athletes in the US develop and improve their game,” said ITC High Performance Director Harel Levy, himself an Israel Davis Cup member and former top ranked ATP player. “Davis Cup teammates like Ronen Moralli and Noam Behr will be there to add their expertise in what is sure to be an experience they will never forget.”
For this inaugural camp season, space is extremely limited, and parents are encouraged to contact the ITC and sign up as soon as possible.

“We see this as a real win-win for the ITC and the kids coming over to play and learn from our coaches”, Harel added. “In future years, we hope to open this up to more kids and eventually add training camps geared to their parents.”
