The Ben Wilder Memorial Fund

Ben Wilder z”l (beloved son of Yael and Mark Wilder) died tragically on June 29, 2014 at the tender age of 12 as a result of an undiagnosed staph infection.  Ben was an incredibly unique young boy.  Ben excelled academically and was a gifted athlete who had a special love of tennis.  In addition to winning his section tournament at Camp White Pine, he became the youngest person to win the York Racquets under 18 tournament, toppling a 16 year old boy in the final who was more than 12 inches taller and 100 lbs. heavier than Ben.  Ben was incredibly humble in victory as he had incredible compassion for the feelings of others.  Ben had a magnetic personality and touched the lives of hundreds of people young and old.  Ben had limitless potential and is profoundly missed every day.

The Israel Tennis Centres Foundation is reaching out to the community to help honour Ben’s legacy by soliciting donations to the Ben Wilder Memorial Court fund.  Our collective goal for this important initiative is to raise $100,000, which will support the permanent naming of a tennis court in Israel in Ben’s memory.  There is no doubt that Ben would have loved the idea of improving the lives of Israeli children through tennis!
